The Boeing 314 Clipper still ranks as one of the most luxurious airliners of all time. The giant flying boat provided first-class service, with hot meals, to its 40 berthed passengers. It was the first "wide-bodied" aircraft, with 12.5 ft cabins. A total of 12 planes, including the "Yankee Clipper", "California Clipper" and "Atlantic Clipper" flew the routes to the major ports around the world.
